Development Program
With the objective of preparing players for the future, Atletico encourages all players 7 and 8 years old to join us in our Developmental Program . Our training is based exclusively on helping players develop basic motor skills that will better equip them to learn basic soccer skills such as stopping the ball, dribbling with various parts of the foot, and overall ball mastery, all while having fun. Groups will be divided based on skill level and teams will be formed to compete in local leagues. All training session will be designed by, Jose Luis Seabra, Atletico's Youth Director.

OBJECTIVES FOR U7 & U8
Below is an example of the objectives the players at Atletico follow on a yearly basis. These objectives are directly related to what is most important for children of these ages to learn. As players grow in our system, the objectives, level of difficulty, and sophistication in the training will increase.
Individual Technique:
Do not kick the ball away
Control and move the ball with various parts of the foot: inside, bottom, outside, etc.
Kick with the instep and with the inside of the dominant foot
Individual Tactics:
Understanding fakes and dribbling technique: "make a move on the opponent"
Interfere, “get in the way” of the adversity: "confidence and courage stop the opponent"
Making the most of 1 on 1 situations: "me and the ball versus the opponent"
Group Tactics:
Recognizing a team aspect: “if I can not do it myself, I look to get help”
Confront the opponent with only one player on the ball: “I wait my turn to stop the opponent”
Making the most of 2 on 1 and 3 on 1 situations: “me and my teammates over the opponent”
Understanding the 4 on 4 game system
Understanding the field: defensive and attacking zones
